Undergrounds Bookstore
The Undergrounds Bookstore is open monthly on the third Saturday each month as well as, extended sales in April and October from 9:00-12:45 p.m.  All three locations of sale items:  The Bookstore, the Children's Book Nook, and the Adult Book Nook are located in the basement of the Dale Branch. Youth under 14 years of age must have a parent with them at all times in the basement.

The Undergrounds Bookstore offers a vast collection of both books and audiovisuals. The continuously changing stock has most genres of fiction, non-fiction, and audio-visuals.

Hardcover books $1.00; trade paperbacks are $.50; mass-market paperbacks .50 cents;  Magazines .25 or 5/$1.00; CD's 2/$1.00; CD boxed sets $1.00; DVD's $3.00;   Audio-books $3.00; Children's Hardbacks $1.00 or 6 for $5.00; Children's paperback $.50 or five/$2.00; puzzles $3.00;  Cash or check (checks made out to the Dale Friends of LHPL)

Operated by the Dale Friends of the Lincoln Heritage Public Library volunteers, proceeds from book sales benefit all library programs and related events.

Books and media come from discarded inventory from the library and community contributions. Donations can be dropped off at the library's circulation desk during library hours. Clean out those bookshelves and restock with new titles from the Undergrounds Bookstore.

Donation: List of acceptable items
Materials that are moldy, falling apart, or otherwise in no condition to sell should not be donated to the Book Nook. Please see the recycling options listed at the bottom of this page.

The Undergrounds Bookstore/Book Nooks are happy to accept:

Hardcover books for all ages
Paperback books for all ages
Magazines published within the current calendar year*
Puzzles and games that are complete and in good condition
*The Book Nook will not accept donations of National Geographic due to the large volume of donations they receive of this title or encyclopedias.

When all other options are exhausted, the best thing to do for old books is to recycle them. As blasphemous as this may seem, the environment (and library staff) should recycle books and other printed materials that are moldy or mildewed, damaged, or otherwise unusable.
